Membership Session: Importance of testing in Formula Student
On Tuesday, October 10 at 6:30 PM IST, Saiduth Ramesh shall be presenting on the topic “Importance of testing in Formula Student” as a part of the Membership by Formula Bharat initiative.
Content:
- Testing and durability – An overview of physical testing, limitations, timeline adaptability, pitfalls, and consequences
- Performance testing – Subsystem-specific tests, driver training, dynamic event preparation
- Testing and design methodology/validation – Importance of testing for static preparation, design validation, and result correlation
About the speaker:
Saiduth completed Mechanical Engineering at SRM IST following which he pursued an MSc. in Motorsport Engineering at Oxford Brookes University, graduating in 2019. During his time at the University, he was actively involved in multiple Formula Student teams including Camber Racing in the undergrad years and Oxford Brookes Racing (driverless team OBR – Autonomous) during the Master’s program. In his Formula Student tenure, he was involved in various roles including being an Aerodynamicist, Driver, Team Captain, and Business Plan developer. Being passionate about race engineering and lap time simulation, he has been actively involved in Simracing projects since 2019. He worked with the drivers and team at IR eSports for competitions including GT World Challenge eSports Asia, WTCC eTCR Championship, and multiple 24-hour endurance races. Currently, he is involved in GT racecar setup development on iRacing/ACC and race engineering for teams involved in championships such as SRO eSports, VCO LFM Flexstreme series, and iRacing Special Events.
